How to get Redemption of SGB (Sovereign Gold Bond) in Post Office (DOP - Department of Post) - Procedure/Steps

Procedure/Steps for SGB (Sovereign Gold Bond) Redemption in Post Office(DOP):

Required Documents for SGB (Sovereign Gold Bond) redemption at Post office,  

Scanned Copies of the following documents needs to be forwarded to Mumbai GPO:

 

a. Request Letter from the investor

b. Letter from the Divisional Head

c. CoH (Bond) (scanned copy) of the investor (Head Office or Divisional office will retain the bond during the time of request received for premature redemption or redemption )

d. Aadhaar or PAN

e. Investor's Bank Account front page

f. SGB application of the investor(submitted to HO during the time of investment at the initial stage)


RBI will credit the Premature Redemption or Redemption Amount directly to the investors account (amount will be credited only on the interest payable dates)

The payment of SGB amount can be redeemed from the 5th year onwards from the date of issue of bond ( Premature Redemption )
