GDS Transfer Guidelines | Process of fixation of TRCA to a lower level will be applicable only for initial engagement and not for transfer | Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS) Transfer Guidelines

Kindly refer to Directorate letter No.17-31/2016-GDS dated 25.06.2018 regarding implementation of recommendation on wages and allowance of Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS).

In para 3(3.1) of the Directorate letter it is stated that in respect of the GDSs engaged on after 01.07.2018, the initial fixation will be done on first stage of Level 1 of the respective category.

It has been observed that some of the Divisions have followed the same procedure for a vacant post to which transfer is requested and thereby denying transfer to the GDS. Aggrieved by the rejection of the transfer request on the ground of lowering of TRCA level some of the GDS have approached the Hon'ble CAT.

As such, it is reiterated that "the process of fixation of TRCA to a lower level will be applicable only for initial engagement and not for transfer. The level of the post should remain as it is when that particular post became vacant" and transfer should be approved to that level only.
